With a focus on original physical theatre works, Solo Chicken has created shows big and small in New Brunswick since 2015. Solo Chicken’s earlier works were created through “the coop,” an incubator program that trained emerging artists in physical theatre and devised creation.

Welcome to the PIG Project, a space where artists from different disciplines collaborate and aim to take something truly terrible and make it into something beautiful.

Creatures, goddesses and gods with a taste of the Greek pantheon resonating through them find themselves in a state of isolation, going, as we all do when left to our own devices, a little crazy.

A Record of Us uses the text of celebrated NB author David Adams Richards as the catalyst, to build performance that evokes the raw beauty, humour, and the hardscrabble realities of this province.

There is something nostalgic, tangible, and inherently human about the film noir genre. In "Pitch Black" we were curious to build a performance piece, which utilizes filmic suspense techniques, while portraying a series of dramatic scenes, inspired by real-life Hitchcock.


Directed by Lisa Anne Ross with choreography by Lesandra Dodson, this production is a new work of physical theatre that peeks into the sordid, lonely and occasionally hilarious minds of some of the world’s most nefarious characters. 


The Bacchae

A collaboration between St. Thomas University’s Theatre St. Thomas and Solo Chicken’s the coop, “The Bacchae” was a physical theatre adaptation of Euripides’ classic Greek play.
