Foolish Deeds
Creatures, goddesses and gods with a taste of the Greek pantheon resonating through them find themselves in a state of isolation, going, as we all do when left to our own devices, a little crazy. Welcome to Foolish Deeds. A cinematic production that required social distancing and forced us to work in new, genre bending ways. Foolish Deeds manifested in various forms with a collection of collaborators, each resulting in its own digital creation.

Isolated//Together
Foolish Deeds was born out of choreography created during a collaboration with Atlantic Ballet’s project “Isolated//Together,” a multidisciplinary project that featured dancers from across New Brunswick dancing in locales that were full of people before the COVID-19 pandemic. Solo Chicken created two dances for “Isolated//Together,” which were eventually adapted to become the seminal pieces for Foolish Deeds.

Artist in Residency - Fredericton Playhouse
In August 2020, Solo Chicken was invited to be Artists in Residence (supported by The Government of New Brunswick) at The Fredericton Playhouse where we occupied (with social distance) spaces all around the building. Inspired by the Ancient Greek pantheon of gods, artists worked in solitude building strange, dynamic responses to isolation and the deep changes of our time.
