TILT

CREATED BY JEAN-MICHEL CLICHE & ALEX RIOUX

winner of the Fundy Fringe Festival’s Fan Favourite Award!

Introducing TILT, a hybrid theatre/improv show created and performed by Jean-Michel Cliche & Alex Rioux! In TILT, a couple’s rocky domestic life takes a sudden turn when a shocking secret comes to light. What secret? You decide! Part scripted theatre, part long-form improv, TILT is a unique performance where a prompt from the audience sends the story – and performers – into an improvised tailspin!

TILT begins with a fully scripted, rehearsed and choreographed 20 minute scene following the ups and downs of a seemingly normal couple. Mounting tensions eventually lead to the reveal of a dramatic secret… Which is provided by an audience member each night! What follows is a totally improvised continuation of the story, complete with movement sequences, flashbacks and new characters, concluding with the couples ultimate decision; Have their relationship torn apart or stick it out despite it all?

TILT is an exciting fusion of forms — improv and physical theatres — that have existed independently under the Solo Chicken umbrella until now! TILT is an experimental show that is intended to be a small-scale but high-polish performance perfect for festivals and touring!
